Bros / Les boys

Bros/ Les boys is a new multilingual play by Art Babayants. The play talks about identities: obvious and hidden, strong and weak, linguistic and non-verbal, sexual and ethnic. Bros/Les boys is based on the playwright's own experiences as well as the stories he has collected from immigrant in Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec. "Bros / Les boys" is an episodic 60-minute piece that presents multilingual and multi-identity characters, specifically queer characters. It is these stories, sometimes funny and violent, that push us to rethink the hospitality, our perceptions of the Other and the fear that we always keep when we meet someone who seems so different from us. These are the stories of immigration, loss, love, death, rejection, connection and acceptance.
